Depicting horses and riders is as old as art. Equestrian photography captures the beauty and grace of horses in motion, as well as the skill and athleticism of the riders. It's the art of being able to capture split-second moments while the horses are in motion wether it's dressage, show jumping, eventing or racing. Of course, it’s essential to have at least some understanding of equine anatomy and physiology, and their interplay with the rider, the rider’s body language and emotional connection to the horse.
